Born in Milton to Dorothy McCoombs, Vince cherished his childhood experiences, including little league baseball and scouting. He began his professional journey at Bowater Mersey Paper Company Ltd., where he retired as a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic Millwright after a dedicated career starting in 1970.
Vince's love story with Opal began at a garden party in 1969, leading to their marriage on May 16, 1970. They welcomed three children: a daughter and two sons. His hobbies included woodworking, photography, trout fishing, and coaching little league baseball. A devoted family man, Vince took pride in teaching life lessons to his children and grandchildren.
After retirement, he and Opal enjoyed dancing, traveling within Nova Scotia, and spending quality time with family.
